Typically, the thicker a metal is, the more challenging it is to bend in Little Norway.

Thicker pipe and tube wall are more durable, so don’t crush as easily. In other words, successfully bending pipe or tube is eased by thicker steel, unlike most other bending and rolling.

Still, round tube bending is an exceptional task, regardless of material thickness. Controlling distortion requires expert control and precision. A pipe’s natural tendency is to bend into an egg or oval shape … if not crush outright.

Using dies is a recommended approach. The size of the die depends on a pipe’s outside diameter. Pipes come in a LOT of different diameters.
